 Crown Thinning/Crown Lifting

Thinning CrownCrown Thinning is the removal of a proportion of secondary and small live branch growth throughout the crown, to produce as far as possible an even density of foliage around a well spaced and balanced structure.

This pruning work is remedial work for the long-term health of the tree. This also enables light to penetrate through and around the crown giving a dappled light, which can be very beneficial in summer periods of hot weather. Eastwood Tree Services Ltd will use hand-saws wherever possible, in this type of work as this gives the cut surface a planned finish rather than that of a chainsaw which gives a curetted edge. This helps the tree to heal more effectively (Callous).

Crown Lifting is the removal of branches on the main trunk. This allows visibility under the canopy allowing vehicle or pedestrian access whilst not damaging the form of the tree.
